Michael Routh’s fine art photographs are printed in a color-calibrated workflow environment using the finest a
available “giclée” (inkjet) printing technology, archival inks, and printing methods to produce the highest quality photographs. Michael uses a Canon 8300 large format printer with Lucia inks that produce the widest RGB color gamut (color range) possible for his photographs. The photographs are personally printed by Michael (not a photo lab) on archival heavy-weight photographic papers similar to traditional photo paper - but with the widest color gamut. Michael’s preferred photographic papers are Ilford’s Smooth Pearl (semi-gloss) and Galerie Gold Fibre Silk (Baryata) archival heavyweight photographic papers that produce vivid colors, a full tonal range, very fine textures without the glare found in glossy photo paper. The "archival expectancy" of these papers has been tested by Wilhelm Research in an accelerated aging laboratory to be 70-150+ years. Other available papers include traditional matte cotton rag, glossy, metal, and canvas.
